A wonderful gathering together and commitment to deepening our connection with the plants.
Together we will explore: * making tinctures, oils, salves, infusions, decoctions and flower essences * tastes of the plants and actions they impart in the body * systems of the body and how to strengthen them with plant medicine * herbal formulation and plant identification * spiritual relationship with the plants through journeying and dreaming
Our apprenticeship will hold the container for our discoveries.
The location is in a beautiful yurt in Portland, accessible by the #4 bus line, walking distance to the Fore River. The maximum number of students is twelve. Babes in arms are welcome! Beginning Herbal Apprenticeship, week long: July 2022 Herbal Apprenticeship - Beginner Intensive Week-long Program Sunday, July 24 - Saturday, July 30, 9am - 8:30pm, Portland, supper included ($1200)
The last time we ran this circle in 2018, it was such a magical week!
The mornings begin with an herb walk at 9am, getting to touch, smell, and taste the plants of the body system we're covering for the day. Mid-morning we move into more detailed exploration of how we might combine and prepare particular herbs and plants for supporting the day's body system. Around noon we pause until 2pm for our lunch break, during which time everyone's invited to take a walk or sit in the garden and rest. In the afternoon we prepare medicines from the garden - making tinctures, teas, syrups, oils, and salves. We break for a shared vegetarian supper together at 5:30, and after dinner, at 6:30, special guest teachers join us for an evening share on their favorite topic of interest.
You are welcome to join circle! Our circle will fill at 9 people and folks ages 12 - 78 have expressed having tremendous fun in a multi-generational space!
