MARCH Medicinal Mints in the Garden Landscape March 5 (Tuesday) 6:00 - 8:30, Resilience Hub, 224 Anderson St, Portland, ME How to bring the uplifting (yet grounding) qualities of a dozen friendly mints from your garden into your day to day Life. Expect to laugh, drink tea, and talk about the medicinal magic these gentle (yet profound) easy to grow allies. We'll visit with: Peppermint, Spearmint, Bee Balm, Catnip, Lavender, Thyme, Rosemary, Sage, Oregano, Motherwort, Skullcap, Lemon balm, Wood betony, and Self heal.
Beginner Herbalism Garden Series: Digestive, Respiratory, Nervine Herbs May 7, 14, 21, 28 (Tuesdays), 6:00 - 8:30pm ($160/series) We’ll begin in the garden in early Spring as the medicinal plants emerge, while their growth from last year is still present, holding the very last of their seeds! We'll have an herb walk each week, so we begin to recognize the shapes of the plants as they grow. We'll taste many of the plants in tea, and learn their digestive, respiratory, and nervous system supportive actions in the body. We'll prepare medicine each week and travel home with plants from the garden on our last evening together. To register, please click here.
Medicinal Herb Walk: Robinson Woods May 16 (Thursday), 6:00 - 7:30pm ($6) Join Mischa Schuler, herbalist and owner of Wild Carrot Herbs on a walk through Robinson Woods. As the plants reawaken to spring, we will visit with these extraordinary beings in their young stages of growth - learning to recognize their patterns across the refreshed landscape.
