Clinical Herbal Apprenticeship: October 2021 - May 2022
Seven Wednesdays from October 2022 - May 2023, 9:00am - 3:30pm October 12, November 9, December 14, January 11, March 8, April 19, May 10 Hosted in Portland, Maine.
The primary focus of our time together is to build your trust in yourself through self reflection, deepening relationships with the plants, further development of clinical skills and sitting with clients in the Apothecary. We'll also discuss the practical considerations in developing a clinical practice (accounting, networking, apothecary building, etc.)
We'll explore tongue, pulse, facial assessment, clinical intake, and ethics during this time - and go into depth on the topics that are deeply important to your interest. We'll do our best to cover the herbs and material that relate to 'that which keeps you up at night.'
My hope is for you to complete these months with a firm belief in your intuition and relationship with the plants - particularly with those plant teachers who have shown up in your Life in unexpected ways and who have become reliable friends.
I want you to trust yourself. A piece of this work is personal Hollow Bone work. Taking care of our own challenges is a part of supporting others. It won't be a primary focus of our time in circle together, though our circle will provide a container of safety to pursue this personal investigation outside of circle.
We'll have a client session at 1:00pm each afternoon, in which we will be holding sacred community space for the person coming in. We will create a tea and/or tincture for them, and over the next month between classes we'll think further about the case and individually create a protocol and tincture formulation which we'll discuss during the next class session.
There will be approximately six to ten hours of "Home Exploration" each month - research, protocol development, assessment tools practice, and personal reflection.
The energy exchange is $1400 for the series. We'll hold circle for four to eight participants. Our class will be very much alive with who we each are.
